Color Inspiration: Seafoam Green
Posted: January 9, 2012 Filed under: Fashion, Interiors | Tags: Neutral Green Interior Design, Resort Fashion 2012, Seafoam, transitional interior design 7 Comments »It is chilly here in Boston today and my tan is fading faster than ever. Memories of the beach and the ocean are still lingering in my thoughts…
…I love the color of it and I dream about the day when I can use in just about every room in my home.
Seafoam is actually a perfect neutral and looks beautiful on walls, furniture and draperies.
I also love to wear it!

Tuf{ted} Love
Posted: December 19, 2011 Filed under: Accessories for the Home, Interiors | Tags: transitional interior design, tufted furniture 7 Comments »Over the years, I have become more and more aware of how much I enjoy tufted furniture. Button tufting has been stylish for ages, but I can’t get enough of the modern twist on this time-tested tradition I keep seeing in the marketplace.
I am obsessed with this Horchow sofa….and its for sale for only $1,799!
I am not only drooling over this sofa, but I cannot get over this amazing octopus triptych. In case you can’t read the caption, it’s a print from an 1826 copper plate etching. It sort of reminds me of the aquatic painting I loved so much in this design by Koo de Kir.
Really liking this tufted headboard, but I’m also going crazy over this wallpaper = gorg.
Pictutre perfect room in the Lennox Hotel
This room by Sarah Richardson is truly my dream room.

Home of the Week – What’s on the Market?
Posted: November 29, 2011 Filed under: Architecture, Home of the Week, Interiors | Tags: San Francisco Real Estate, transitional interior design, Yellow and Orange Interior Design Leave a comment »This San Francisco estate seems to go on forever. Built in 1910 and fully restored in 2002, this mansion boasts 3 rooftop terraces, 6 fireplaces, 2 kitchens, a basketball court and a commercial speed elevator, all of which are in pristine condition. It is located in the prime neighborhood of Pacific Heights and has views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Bay Bridge, and the city skyline. I love the orange and yellow decor and the playful basement area. It is currently listed with Redfin Realty.
I *love* the use of yellow and orange throughout!
Beautiful coffered ceiling
The detail on this crown moulding is stunning. The detail on this fireplace is exquisite too.
Check out this gorgeous herringbone fireplace!

House of Turquoise

It looks so beautiful when used as paint, decor accents or major pieces of furniture.
Turquoise looks great with neutrals, but I also love it when paired with a bold color like orange or red.

Posted: October 18, 2011 Filed under: Architecture, Home of the Week, Interiors | Tags: Etro, grey and yellow interior design, Lake Como, transitional interior design Leave a comment »The fact that this estate is located right down the street from George Clooney’s infamous Lake Como home was a enough to peak my interest. Once I saw the exquisite interior design and breath-taking views of this lakeside villa, I was completely sold. This estate has recently undergone an extensive renovation under the guidance of designers from the fashion house Etro. The design is contemporary-chic, yet very elegant and classic. Some major selling points include a fully equipped state of the art work out facility, a private helicopter pad, infinity pool, a private boathouse and your very own Riva. It is currently listed with Christie’s International Real Estate.
I would LOVE to have tea in this little sitting area every morning. The view is out of this world!
Amazing interior design – both modern and timeless
I love the detail on this fireplace and the window above it – so perfect!
Gorgeous chair! Plus, the grey and yellow combo is tdf.
Home of the week – What’s on the Market?
Posted: September 27, 2011 Filed under: Architecture, Home of the Week, Interiors | Tags: Heath Hall, Real estate, transitional interior design 1 Comment »The details: London, United Kingdoms • 14 bedrooms • 27,000 Sq Ft • $163,800,000
This house isn’t new to the market…nor is it as much a house as it a mansion. However, I have never seen a $164 million home before so I felt compelled to share this one! Everything about this palatial London estate, known as Heath Hall, is grand: the meticulous interior, the thoughtful landscaping and the historical architecture. It was built in 1910 for Sugar Magnate William Park Lyle and currently owned by Andreas Panayiotou, CEO of the Ability Group. Panayiotou and a team of 120+ master craftsmen have spent the past six years restoring this historical masterpiece to perfection. It boasts 14 bedrooms, indoor and outdoor pools, a tennis court, restored Arts and Crafts brickwork, temperature controlled wine cellar, movie theater and a master bathroom made out of one single piece of onyx costing over £20,000.
It is currently listed with Glentree Estates for £100,000,000.
I love the vaulted ceiling and this black chandelier is amazing.
This onyx bathroom is out of this world….and the neutral color palette is right up my alley
Today is all about Grey
Posted: August 29, 2011 Filed under: Interiors | Tags: Arts, Construction and Maintenance, Design, feminine interior, Grey, grey interior design, interior design, interior designer, Interiors, neutral interior design, transitional interior design Leave a comment »My current design obsession is anything transitional, feminine and from the grey or neutral color palette. I love the delicate and ethereal quality of these interiors because they look almost as light as air, but still have a substantial quality to them. Plus neutrals keep everything light, fresh and clean. By matching the color of the floor-wall-ceiling, you can make any space look much bigger.
These two images are from a townhouse in Beacon Hill designed by one of my all time favorite local interior design firms – Lewis Interiors.
I also love, love, love this living room.
So pretty!
