Nailhead Trim on Dining Chairs

After seeing the amazing ivory leather nailhead dining chairs and benches in Susan Hornbeak Ortiz’s home yesterday, I have been on a mission to find a set of my own.  This style has literally been around for AGES. I recall learning about just how old this design really is in my History of Furniture class when nailheads were called Chatones.  I think its safe to say that nailhead trim detail is here to stay.  Though I love this look on headboards, couches, desks and more, I am particularly fond of the way it looks on dining chairs.  It is an unobtrustive way to add something extra special to an otherwise ordinary piece of furniture.
