Cape Town

I have a simple black one I purchased in London almost three years ago, but the new breed of capes are sleeker, lighter and more feminine than ever, making it oh-so hard to resist. Not only is this trend is still huge, but this time of year is definitely the perfect time to sport one.
I have my eye on these two (L: Loro Piana, R: J Crew)

Weekend Look: NYC
Posted: November 4, 2011 Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: Fall fashion 2011, new york city 1 Comment »I am en route to New York City for a weekend visit with my best girlfriends. In between shopping, dining, drinking and laughing, I hope to sneak in some culture and hit up the Met or MoMa… I would love to wear this green silk Etro tunic with black leggings and booties. We’re expecting great weather this weekend, so I’m leaving my jackets and coats behind.
I love this black long-sleeved DVF dress – I will keep it simple with black heels and some bright accessories.
Weekend Look: Casual Fall Fashion
Posted: October 28, 2011 Filed under: Fashion, Shopping | Tags: Colorful corduroys, Fall fashion 2011 Leave a comment »This weekend, aside from all the Halloween festivities, I am in major catch-up mode. This casual Fall outfit will do just fine as I make my way through my hefty to-do list. I love pairing cords with flats, a comfortable top and a tailored jacket.
The Thigh’s the Limit
Posted: October 24, 2011 Filed under: Fashion | Tags: Classy thigh-high boots, Fall fashion 2011, Thigh-high boots 2 Comments »Thigh-high boots are everywhere this season! I am a little bit hesitant to jump on board this recurring trend, but these beautiful boots make it so difficult to resist. Somehow this season’s version is much more sophisticated and classy than years past.
I love the way these leather Jimmy Choo thigh-highs look with this Stella McCartney patch work dress.
Even the uber-conservative Ralph Lauren Collection has embraced this trend
Rick Owens - if only I had those long legs to go with those boots!
Weekend Look: Head of the Charles
Posted: October 21, 2011 Filed under: Events, Fashion, Personal | Tags: Charles River, Fall fashion 2011, Head of the Charles Regatta Leave a comment »This weekend is the Head of the Charles Regatta, which is the world’s largest two-day rowing event right here on the Charles River in Cambridge, Mass. I am looking forward to beautiful Fall weather and a day of fun with my girlfriends. I plan to wear something like this great Vince Kimono wrap sweater from Barneys with a pair of jeans, leopard print flats and my favorite brown leather bag.
And here are some pics from last year’s HOCR:

Gorgeous greens by Pheobe Howard
I absolutely adore this green upholstered headboard from The Danieli Hotel in Venice. I love how the shape of the headboard mimics the shape of the door

Weekend Look: Maine Getaway
Posted: October 14, 2011 Filed under: Fashion | Tags: Fall fashion 2011 2 Comments »This weekend I am heading to northern Maine for an HBS section D retreat. I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend away with my husband and his fellow classmates as well as the opportunity to absorb the Fall foliage at its prime. Unfortunately, I absolutely loathe packing. For me, it is the most anxiety-inducing task on the planet. I strive to avoid over-packing, yet in the process, I always forget the essentials…One trip that comes to mind is the week I spent in Bermuda last year without my dob-kit (including contact solution, make up, frizz taming products and the rest of my plethora of beauty necessities.) As usual, I have put off this dreadful task until the very last second. Here is what I have so far…
My Saturday morning apple picking outfit
And hopefully I can force everything into my Longchamp Boxford luggage and toiletry case
The Plaid Fad
Posted: October 13, 2011 Filed under: Fashion, Interiors | Tags: Fall fashion 2011, Plaid Fashion, Plaid Interior Design 1 Comment »For those of you who have read The Preppy Handbook or its successor True Prep, you will certainly understand my compulsion towards all things plaid. There is something so comforting about it that reminds me of Country homes and cozy scarves. Plaid has been on-trend for decades and now it is more popular than ever.
Here are some great plaid pieces for your wardrobe this Fall.

Weekend Looks
Posted: October 7, 2011 Filed under: Fashion | Tags: Alberta Ferretti, Fall fashion 2011, Giuseppe Zanotti 1 Comment »I saw this Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti lace shift dress and fell in love. It is the perfect weekend party dress. Its feminine and sweet, but when worn with this black blazer and Giuseppe Zanotti black booties, it suddenly becomes a little bit edgy. Plus, this chunky necklace not only looks great with this dress, but could definitely be worn casually with jeans or semi-casually with work attire.
And for the tailgates… my go-to items include: boots, blazers, scarves and sweaters. I love this cashmere camel ralph lauren sweater with a navy blazer and this green balenciaga bag.
Have a great weekend!
