Pillow Talk

I have always loved throw pillows because they can transform the look and feel of an entire space without any kind of major commitment.
Bright & Bold Interiors
Posted: August 22, 2012 | Author: Style Theories | Filed under: Art, Interior Decorating, Interior Design, Interiors | 8 Comments »Hello dear readers….I apologize for my month-long sabbatical, but I do have an excellent reason for taking so much time off. On July 22nd, my beautiful son was born and I have spent just about every second of the past 31 days getting to know everything there is to know about him. One thing I have found particularly amazing is how I can love someone so much that I have known for such a short amount of time. Being a mom is truly an indescribable feeling and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
I am so happy to be back and I am feeling more vibrant and alive than ever before. I am craving bright, bold colors and rooms that are filled with energy and life!
Modern Vintage
Posted: July 19, 2012 | Author: Style Theories | Filed under: Interior Decorating, Interior Design, Interiors | 2 Comments »I love the combination of modern and vintage pieces in interior design. It makes a space feel cozy and inviting, while still looking fresh and clean. Adding a glamorous crystal chandelier or a Venetian French cut mirror to an otherwise rustic space will easily make any home look special.
Chippendale
Posted: July 17, 2012 | Author: Style Theories | Filed under: Accessories for the Home, Interior Decorating, Interior Design, Interiors | Tags: Chinese Chippendale, Chinoiserie | 2 Comments »Whats not to love about the Chinese Chippendale Chair? This timeless design is now more modern than ever because it’s popping up everywhere in bright or unexpected colors and in interesting design settings. It really complements just about any space and any decor, which is why it is on my list of favorite things!
I love this one from Wisteria
And this one from Neiman Marcus!
I’m also pretty head-over-heels for the Chippendale staircase
Orange Crush
Posted: July 16, 2012 | Author: Style Theories | Filed under: Accessories for the Home, Interior Decorating, Interior Design, Interiors | Tags: Orange, orange interior design | 5 Comments »Orange is such a refreshing color. For some reason, it feels especially refreshing on these hot days of summer. A pop of this bright hue can liven up just about any space. For starters… I’m dying over every single detail in Jonathan Adler’s bathroom below (the orange shower curtain is just the icing on the cake!) But seriously, how perfectly does it complement that vintage brass Hermes wall hanging.
Brass & White: Suellen Gregory
Posted: July 11, 2012 | Author: Style Theories | Filed under: Interior Decorating, Interior Design, Interiors | Tags: Brass Interior Design Accents, Gold and White Interior Design, Suellen Gregory | 2 Comments »I love this design by Suellen Gregory that is featured in the latest Veranda mag. I just discovered the work of this Virginia based designer, but she has really captured my attention. As you know, brass is one of my favorite accents, so I was instantly drawn to these rooms and that gorgeous buffet. I also love her use of mirrors – especially those amazing mirrored panels in the dining room!
A Splash of Color
Posted: July 10, 2012 | Author: Style Theories | Filed under: Interior Decorating, Interior Design, Interiors | 6 Comments »One of the easiest ways to spruce up a room is by adding a few splashes of color. It’s so easy to have a home that flows beautifully when you start with a relatively simple color palette and then add accent colors you like. Here are a few successful rooms with just a touch of color…
Cornflower Blue
Posted: July 9, 2012 | Author: Style Theories | Filed under: Interior Decorating, Interior Design, Interiors | Tags: cornflower blue interior design | 6 Comments »It’s no secret that blue is one of my favorite colors. Lately, I am particularly drawn to this lovely shade of cornflower blue. Cornflower blue is a great for softening an area and looks beautiful with bright white or more of a creamy white. I also like it with a touch of pink…
I usually prefer a bright white kitchen, but lately, kitchens like this are really peaking my interest! What do you think? Would you ever go for a blue kitchen?
French Scandinavian retreat
Posted: July 4, 2012 | Author: Style Theories | Filed under: Interior Decorating, Interior Design, Interiors | Tags: black and white interior design, French Scandinavian Interior, White Interior Design | 2 Comments »I love the French Scandinavian style of this Los Angeles home. White interiors have always appealed to me, but the antique pieces here really make this home special. The one thing I would consider changing is lighting up the floors a bit or adding some great area rugs….other than that, I think its perfect!
Nantucket Design

I love the wicker furniture, the generous use of antiques and that pretty blue color in the bedroom that perfectly complements the hydrangea throughout.
